Pet-centric Events: Paint your Pet

We’re in the week after our most recent event: Paint your Pet. Locally, Modern Companion is known for hosting pet friendly events at our retail store and in nearby spaces here in Chapin, SC. We’d describe the events more as pet-centric since they revolve entirely around our community of pets.

Paint your Pet is part of a new event series we’ve been piloting called Pet Parents Night Out. At Modern Companion, we like for our events to have a purpose. It could be something like “for puppies to work on their social skills” or as simple as “to give our community a reason to get together and have fun,” but there’s always a goal. For Pet Parents Night Out, our end goal is to encourage pet parents to get out without their pets to do some self care or a fun craft and make new friends with other pet loving locals. 

Paint your Pet definitely met that goal. We saw pet parents laughing together, exploring their creativity, and learning with artist Audra Caldwell. Pets are the perfect bonding topic and our team loved hearing all about the pets everyone was painting. Our wonderful community of artists each found a way to show off their pet’s personality in their painting through the picture they chose or their color choices. We set up a charcuterie board and some drinks for snacking while painting to really build that paint and sip ambiance. Add in a playlist of early 2000s hits and you've got an atmosphere built for fun.
